Project: Build a Lee Toy Fighter Kite
Lee was a prolific Bay Area Kite builder known for his whimsical designs and graphics.
Every kite flier must have a fighter kite or two in his bag, these highly maneuverable kites are great fun and a challenge to master.
Fighter kites are becoming more and more popular these days. Fighter events are being organized in conjunction with major events all over the country.
Even the AKA now recognizes fighters and holds competitions during convention.
This class will include some basic appliqué.
Directions
From Highway 80 West-
Take the University Ave. exit, left onto University Ave.
West, veer left at the split, the first building you
see on your right will be the Marina Deli and Bait shop.
Go upstairs, behind the baitshop.
From Highway 80 East-
Take the University Ave. exit, take the Frontage Rd.
(center split), make 3 rights (after the first right go
at least to 6th St. for the next right) to get onto
University Ave. West, veer left at the split, the first building you
see on your right will be the Marina Deli and Bait shop.
Go upstairs, behind the baitshop.
